The 16-Hour User Suspended Scaffold User Training Course is intended for all workers using or operating suspended scaffolds during construction, renovation or maintenance of a building exterior.  It is not applicable to pipe scaffolds, mast climbing work platforms, temporary "floats" used by iron-workers, multi-point suspension scaffolds not utilizing powered winches (i.e., bricklayer scaffolds using manual cranks), or any apparatus under the jurisdiction of the New York City's Elevator Division.  Newly updated with the latest NYC-DOB requirements, training includes a combination of instruction and hands-on assessment in: proper assembly, maximum intended load, outrigger beams, tie-back and counterweights; PPE donning and doffing, knots and hitches related to safe rigging and methods of assembling/disassembling them, use ropes and hoists, falling object and fall and prevention; and personal fall arrest system use.

Students will be provided with a review of OSHA and DOB policies, procedures, and suspended scaffold standards in their original 16 Hour suspended scaffold course, with a special emphasis on recognition and prevention of hazardous conditions. Some topics include instructions on how to visually inspect suspended scaffold equipment, basic scaffold components, PPE donning and doffing, knots and hitches related to safe rigging and methods of assembling/disassembling them. Includes hands-on assessment and student testing on applying rope knots, terminating wire rope, building a block and tackle system, operating scaffold hoist motors, and executing safe assembly and disassembly of the equipment

In this course students will explore New York City Construction Codes and OSHA Regulations as it pertains to supervision of suspended scaffolds. Participants learn the most current suspended scaffold standards, including guidance on how to read scaffold design drawings, how to verify the fitness of the rigging crew, properly train workers on related hazards, and also how to identify and respond to emergency situations. This course includes hands-on assessment where students apply rope knots, terminate wire rope, build a block and tackle system, effectively install fall protection systems, and inspect & maintain various types of scaffold hoist motors.

Students will be provided with a review of OSHA and DOB policies, procedures, and suspended scaffold standards in their original 32  Hour suspended scaffold supervisor course, with a special emphasis on supervision, recognition and prevention of hazardous conditions. Topics include instruction on how to visually inspect suspended scaffold equipment, basic scaffold components, PPE donning and doffing, knots and hitches related to safe rigging and methods of assembling/disassembling them. Includes hands-on assessment and student testing on applying rope knots, terminating wire rope, building a block and tackle system, operating scaffold hoist motors, and executing safe assembly and disassembly of rigging equipment.

The 4 hour NYC-DOB Supported Scaffold User course is intended for any worker who uses supported scaffolds of any height, including single frames, rolling towers, baker scaffolds, and stair towers of less than 40′.  Newly updated with the latest the NYC-DOB requirements, training includes: preventing falls; electrical hazards; prevention of falling objects; proper inspection and loading scaffolds; Chapter 33 building regulations; hands-on assessment of proper use of a personal fall arrest systems; and hands-on demonstration of correct full body harness use. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a picture ID card, valid for 4 years.

Instructors will demonstrate safe methods of installation, removal and modification of different types of supported scaffolds using OSHA regulations, DOB standards and good work practice as a guide. Some topics covered during the course will include major scaffold components, importance of proper erection pre-planning, worker training, and how to read scaffold design drawings. Students participate in hands-on assessment exercises in building and dismantling supported scaffolds, applying various rope knots and demonstrating proper ability to apply basic rigging techniques.

To comply with the NYC-DOB’s supported scaffold refresher training requirements, any individual who completed the 32-hr Supported Scaffold Training is required to complete the 8 Hour Supported Scaffold Refresher training every 4 years to update the erector/dismantler certification.  The course is intended to refresh knowledge of NYC-DOB and relevant OSHA Standards.  Newly updated with the latest NYC-DOB requirements, training includes hands-on assessment in scaffold installation, erection and dismantling, as well as proper use of a personal fall arrest systems Covers preventing falls; electrical hazards; prevention of falling objects; proper inspection and loading scaffolds; and a review of all other materials covered in the 32 Hour Erector/Dismantler Supported Scaffold Training Course.

10 Hour OSHA Construction Safety Course

The 10-hour Construction Safety Certification course is intended to provide entry-level construction workers with general knowledge for recognizing and preventing hazards on a construction site.  Newly updated with OSHA’s latest requirements, this 10 hour course is the minimum OSHA standard for all workers.  The course is designed for construction workers new to the industry and as a refresher for workers on hazards in the construction workplace. The course covers the following OSHA required topics:  An introduction to OSHA and OSHA regulations; general safety and health provisions; cranes and rigging; scaffolds; stairways and ladders; health hazards, hazardous materials; hazard communications; electrical safety; power and hand tools; personal protective equipment; struck-by and caught in between procedures; and fall prevention and protection.

30 Hour OSHA Construction Safety Course

The OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety course is a comprehensive safety program designed for anyone involved in the construction industry.  It is specifically designed for construction workers, safety directors, foremen, and field supervisors.  Newly updated with OSHA’s latest requirements, the course provides complete information on OSHA compliance issues.  The course covers the following OSHA required topics:  An introduction to OSHA and OSHA regulations; general safety and health provisions; welding and cutting; fire protection; process safety management: (PSM);  materials handling and storage; motor vehicles;  excavations; concrete and masonry construction ; lead safety in the workplace; use of explosives in the workplace; as well as, cranes and rigging; scaffolds; stairways and ladders; health hazards, hazardous materials; hazard communications; electrical safety; power and hand tools; personal protective equipment; struck-by and caught in between procedures; fall prevention and protection. 

The purpose of the course is to provide training with regards to construction on major buildings, that may be classified by the New York City Building Department, with emphasis on providing not only safety for the public and adjoining property, but to provide safety for worker within the job site as per OSHA requirements.

30 Hour Concrete Safety Manager

This 30 hour Concrete Safety Manager course is approved by the NYC Department of Buildings. This course is a comprehensive review of the New York City Building Code 3300, New York City Department of Buildings Local Laws and bulletins, and OSHA 1926, subparts C, E, X, Q, R and N. The purpose of the course is to train candidates on safe job practices for New York City major buildings where 2000 cubic yards of concrete are to be poured.
